A Reflection in Prose on the Early Christians| Zachary S. Robinson
I have found the history of the early Christians, particularly in the years directly after the Crucifixion, very interesting. Recently, I have been enjoying an audio book by Fr. Brian E. Daley, S. J. , D.Phil, Early Christianity and the First Christians. I found it a nice compliment to my current course work in Church history and encourage anyone interested in the subject to consider this book as well.
I would like to share a reflection in prose on the early Christians and the origin of our faith.
Adoration in the darkest of ages illuminated by the light of infinite mercy bestowed to all, world without end, unending and ageless.
through Him know transcendent salvation,
through Him victory over death and life eternal is proclaimed.
~cry out in the catacomb cry out in despair cry out in redemption and in Glory~
burning in the silent catharsis, cast into the profane artifice of worldly illusion-awaken and rise for Truth and Beauty are bestowed through His merciful Grace.
bring from the darkness the New Covenant and testify in the Martyrs hour, proclaim His kingdom and know nothing of fear.
He has Risen and will return to judge the living and the dead
